Canada Business Visa

Canada welcomes successful business people who are seeking new opportunities and challenges. The business immigration program is designed to encourage and facilitate the admission of these individuals. Both the federal and provincial/ territorial government welcomes business immigrants. They offer services to help immigrants start a business and settle in Canada.

Start-Up Business
A start-up business must be a new business intended to be operated in Canada, which should meet the set criteria to qualify. The new start up business must receive a commitment from:

A designated angel investor group confirming that is investing at least C$75,000 in a qualifying business or two or more designated angel investor groups confirming that they are together investing at least C$ 75,000 in such a business.
A designated venture capital fund confirming that it is investing at least C$ 200,000 in the qualifying business, or two or more designated venture capital fund confirming that they are together investing a total of at least C$200,000 in business; or
A designated business incubator confirming that it is accepting an applicant in his/her business incubator program.
This is not applicable in Quebec. Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who will adapt to living in Quebec.

Investment is not the only factor, analysis of investment and preference of province or territory are equally significant. Their rules and regulations need to be understood carefully.
